Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what BetterVisit does, how patient data is handled, and how it fits into a clinic's existing workflow.

What is BetterVisit?+

BetterVisit is a structured pre-consultation patient intake product for clinics. When a patient enquiry comes in, at any hour, not just during staffed reception hours, BetterVisit gathers their history and chief complaint through a short conversation (typed or spoken), then prepares a clinician-ready summary before the appointment.

Does a doctor review everything before it's used?+

Yes. Every summary is reviewed by a clinician before it's acted on or reaches the patient's record. BetterVisit prepares the groundwork; the clinical judgement stays with the clinician, every time.

Is BetterVisit a diagnostic tool?+

No. BetterVisit does not diagnose and is not a medical device. It's an intake and preparation tool, closer to a structured pre-appointment questionnaire than to clinical decision-making software.

How is this different from a chatbot or an answering service?+

A generic chatbot or answering service takes a message. BetterVisit runs a structured clinical intake conversation and turns it into a briefing a clinician can actually use, complaint, history, and relevant detail organised for the appointment, not just a note that someone called.

Is patient data handled securely?+

Data handling is aligned with UK GDPR; full detail is on our privacy page. Access is limited to authorised clinical staff at the requesting clinic and a small number of BetterVisit engineers acting under audit.

Can I try it before committing to anything?+

Yes. There's a self-serve live demo linked from the homepage and header, no purchase or long-term commitment required to try it. A request is reviewed and approved before you get access, and the trial runs for a few days.

What kind of clinics is this for?+

Clinics and private practices that lose patient enquiries to missed calls, out-of-hours contact, or slow manual intake, and want those enquiries turned into booked, briefed appointments instead of patients who went elsewhere.

Where is BetterVisit based?+

Oxford, United Kingdom. The team is a doctor (Foundation doctor, Northampton General Hospital; Clinical Lecturer, Somerville College, Oxford) and an AI researcher (University of Oxford).
